TWO prominent wV public relations and advertising firms announce merger 01.2.12
The Manahan Group and Stadelman Consulting have announced that they will become one company beginning January 2, 2012. The new company will be named The Manahan Group LLC and will feature 17 communications professionals. The company will maintain two full-service offices in Elkins and Charleston.
Chris and Kelly Stadelman, through Stadelman Consulting LLC, purchased The Phillips Group in Elkins in 2010. The Phillips Group originally started operations in 2001. The Manahan Group was established in 2003.
“I’ve known Chris and Kelly for more than 20 years,” said George Manahan. “Not only are they quality individuals, but they have a tremendous business track record.”
George Manahan will remain CEO of The Manahan Group. Kelly Stadelman will serve as Vice President and Manager of the Elkins Office. Chris Stadelman will serve as Vice President of Public Relations. Manahan said the merger will allow the new company to establish both research and web development divisions as well as expand upon its advertising and public relations services.
“This merger will allow us to maintain the personal, hands-on attention that our clients have come to expect from us, but also provide the expanded services that a larger, full-service agency can provide,” said Chris Stadelman.
“I’ve worked on projects with George and his team over the years, and we’re excited to become part of his operation,” Kelly Stadelman said. “This merger will make both companies stronger and provide additional services to all of our clients.”
George Manahan has worked in the West Virginia communications industry for 28 years starting as a radio and TV reporter before joining the Caperton Administration as press secretary in 1990. In 1993, he established Manahan & Company before merging the company with thembcgroup in 1999 and buying the Charleston office to create The Manahan Group in 2003. Chris is a former newspaper reporter and editor for the Charleston Daily Mail and Associated Press, while Kelly served for many years as a research analyst for RMS Strategies. The two purchased the Parsons Advocate, a weekly newspaper in Tucker County, in 2004 and sold the newspaper earlier this year.
