The Manahan Group’s coordination of press coverage for a new collaboration between UniCare Health Plan of West Virginia and Weight Watchers generated more than 34 million impressions worldwide in just under four days. The collaboration, announced in Charleston, was picked up by The Associated Press, CNN, and several other national and international news agencies.

UniCare hired The Manahan Group to develop and execute a public relations strategy that would increase public awareness of a new program that offers Weight Watchers classes to UniCare’s Medicaid patients.

“We developed both a local and national strategy, ensuring first that UniCare’s message resonated with the West Virginia audience,” said George Manahan, CEO, The Manahan Group.

The announcement paired Unicare, West Virginia’s largest Medicaid provider, and Weight Watchers, one of the world’s top weight loss management programs.
