The Manahan Group has won two American Advertising Federation (AAF) Fifth District Addy Awards, qualifying the firm’s entries for consideration in the National Addy competition. The two entries were the only winners among advertising agencies in West Virginia.

The Addy Awards are sponsored by the AAF, which receives 60,000 entries annually. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry.

The Manahan Group’s two winning entries were:

  • “Razing Awareness,” an in-school video educating students about the dangers of tobacco use;
  • “Raze Results,” an agency promotional video documenting the success of the Raze teen anti-tobacco campaign.

TMG CEO George Manahan said the two awards mean a lot to the agency since the campaign also produced great results for the client, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources. “Our agency’s goal is to produce campaigns that gain results. This campaign did. If we win awards along the way, that’s icing on the cake,” said Manahan.

Manahan said the Raze campaign has led to a 32.5 percent decline in teen tobacco use over the past four years.

The Manahan Group is a marketing and public relations agency located in Charleston, West Virginia.
